SNOW is loved by some and hated by others, but for one artist the white stuff is both clay and a canvas.
As children were out sledging and motorists were cursing icy roads, Ray Hedger was busy creating a snow version of the iconic Venus de Milo sculpture in his back garden.
The 68-year-old has been snowed in at his home in Chedworth and nearly a whole day creating his own Venus.
He said: "I used my hands and copied the Venus from memory.
"I have made a snow queen before in someone's garden in Sweden.
"I like the fact that the Venus will gradually melt away because it shows that beauty is ephemeral."
