With its first outing last night on The History Channel, Counting Cars is the latest import from the good ol' USofA.

The series follows Las Vegas legend Danny 'The Count' Koker and his crew, as they take us on a tour of amazing historic vehicles and unbelievable before-and-after transformations, acquiring, restoring and customising classic cars and motorcycles.

When 'The Count' sees a ride he wants, whether it's on display, at an auto auction or driving on the road, he will stop at nothing to get his hands on it. This is wheeling and dealing at its absolute best!

SKY: HISTORY 529 & 530 (+1)

We Brits love our cars but, just like any relationship, sometimes things can get a little rusty.

Meet master mechanic Fuzz Townshend and radio and TV presenter Tim Shaw, a petrol-head pair who undertake dramatic automobile interventions across the UK, hoping to return some much-loved motors to their former glory.

With a tight deadline to turn each job around without the owners knowing, find out how these neglected classics fell in need of a little loving care – and what Fuzz and Tim can do to get them back on the road.

Car S.O.S airs on Thursdays at 8pm on the National Geographic Channel; Sky channel 526 (also its HD version); Virgin Media 230 or 232 for HD.

Now on Discovery, the new and exclusive series of Fifth Gear features a range of new tests, new races and new motors from around the world. The team put supercars through their paces including the Pagani Huayra, the Roadyacht GTR as well as putting the most powerful Ferrari ever to the test - the 730bhp F12 Berlinetta. Tiff Needel, Vicky Butler-Henderson, Jason Plato and Jonny Smith are all back to give you the expert lowdown on everything motoring!

Take one canny car trader, a mechanical maestro, up to £20,000 and a load of oil, sweat and know-how, and what have you got? Wheeler Dealers of course! Mike Brewer and Edd China hunt for treasure as they find rundown classic cars and transform them into sleek, gleaming beauties ready to sell on to a punter for a healthy profit. In their time the boys have bought and redone some beauties, including: a Triumph Stag, Jensen Interceptor, MGB GT, Lancia Delta Integrale, BMW M3, Ferrari 308 GT and Lotus Elan. It's a sure treat for retro car lovers everywhere.

Tuesdays Discovery Channel Sky - 520. Virgin - 211

In each episode of Fast 'N' Loud, motor mastermind Richard Rawlings and mechanical prodigy Aaron Kaufmann search the far flung corners of Texas and surrounding states for forgotten and derelict classic cars to buy and restore at their Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas, Texas.

As far back as the 1950s, America has been a virtual graveyard of classic cars. Across the country, vintage vehicles can be found rusting in overgrown fields, abandoned back yards, and musty garages. From '57 Chevys to '73 Trans Ams, these machines are screaming to be brought back to life by our heroes.
