ZARA Phillips said she has a shared interest in horses with the Duchess of Cornwall.
The Olympic medallist, who has returned to live at Gatcombe after selling her Cheltenham home, was speaking at a reception hosted by Camilla at Clarence House for British equestrian sport's Olympic and Paralympic medallists.
The Queen's granddaughter, 31, said: "Obviously horses are part of our family and horses have been a part of her family as well.
"It is something that she loves and it is very easy when you have the same interests."
The British eventing team – which included Zara, William Fox-Pitt, Mary King, Tina Cook and Nicola Wilson – secured the first equestrian medal for Team GB when they took silver.
Camilla is patron of the British Equestrian Federation and has bred horses in the past.
