GARDENERS should make a date to hear an expert speaking on the benefits of growing your own food.

Prestbury Flower Arranging Club will be inviting guest speaker Reg Moule to their meeting on June 27.

Mr Moule can be heard sharing his top tips on The Sunday Gardening Show, broadcast by BBC Hereford and Worcester at noon on Sundays.

Club secretary Fenella Botting said: "He will be giving a talk to our members and visitors and will then be on hand to answer gardening questions.

"We are hoping that we can encourage as many people as possible to come along to ask a wide variety of questions, not just on flowers for arrangers but also perhaps about growing your own fruit and vegetables or advice for planting in those difficult areas in the garden.

"It should be a very informative evening."

At the group's next meeting, on July 25, Arnaud Metairie will be the guest speaker.

His presentation is titled A Box of Delight. Mr Metairie, who lives in Winchcombe, was well received by members when he visited the group last year. Fenella Botting said: "We are very much looking forward to this return visit."
