Gloucestershire will be the centre of the sporting world this week as top jockeys and horses compete for a place in racing history.

Around 230,000 people will make the trip to Cheltenham Racecourse looking to back some winners, meet friends and enjoy watching some fantastic action on the hallowed turf.

It promises to be one of the most exciting Festivals all of time, kicking off with Hurricane Fly’s bid to lift his third Champion Hurdle and Quevega aiming to win at the meeting for the sixth year in a row.

On Wednesday, Captain Conan will bid to prove an able deputy for stablemate Sprinter Sacre in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

All eyes will be on the legendary Big Buck’s on Thursday as he attempts to see off the challenge of the unbeaten mare Annie Power and win the World Hurdle for the fifth time.

Then, on Friday, Bobs Worth has the chance to emulate giants of the Turf by winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup for the second year in a row.

The races will take only minutes to run but in this momentous year – the 50th anniversary of Arkle’s first Gold Cup win – many could be talked about forever.
