AUSTRALIAN model Elle Macpherson is believed to be engaged to billionaire Jeff Soffer after she was spotted wearing a diamond wedding ring

The 49-year-old, who moved into her £1.9 million lakeside home in the Cotswolds last year, had a two-year relationship with the estate developer before they split.

But, it was reported that they had rekindled their love after Soffer was injured in a helicopter crash in the Bahamas last November.

His friend Lance Valdez was killed in the crash and Soffer had to undergo surgery for a fractured vertebrae.

Macpherson is now wearing the ring which is thought to be worth more than £175,000.

She was seen wearing it at a charity event in London earlier this week. It is said the supermodel plans to move to be with her husband-to-be in Miami, Florida.

Jewbacca, Agree. Estate agents stories of "business is picking up", "it's a great time to buy", "massive interest from first time buyers" "mortgages are cheaper than renting" are pure fiction. Everyone who is trying or has tried to sell a house in this market will know it can take a year and the house only sells if it's cheap, it's a buyers market because there simply isn't enough buyers with a big cash deposit saved up. Where as 'real' investigative journalism is sadly lacking. Take the story of the business collapse of Jason Jones Autocentre, the paper allowed the ex-owner to tell his story of being unwell & needing a holiday where the truth was the banks & suppliers were owed millions. Have we heard ANYTHING about this since the administrators were called in and the cars sold by auction? no. What about the customers who lost money? Has Jason set up selling cars again? We'll never know left to The Citizen!

No proper reporting. Desperately rehashing national stories as local to fill space. Repeating news stories twice, three times or even more. Adverts for estate agents masquerading as 'news'. Pretending somebody who once came to Gloucestershire is more than tangentially related to us, and therefore newsworthy. Poor grammar and spelling. ASW WSWW GWGTER headlines, anyone? Occasional traffic stories that aren't updated. Anything else?

LORDGAGA, Yus mate! You may have noticed that Ian Mean's new replacement as editor didn't reply to my posting saying WHY should she expect us to pay the recent THREE TIMES inflation rate increase for a single copy of The Citizen now 50p & 60p when the paper is offering useless job, motors and especially house-buying sections better served by the internet and the rest is on the TiG web site for free! And as for the now 60p Weekend edition, just where are the TV listings for the following week which was the only reason I used to by the Weekend edition! You can now get two different weekly TV listings magazines for 20p, making 60p with no TV a real joke!
