DISCOVERING new opportunities and building employability is at the heart of a new initiative Degreeplus, to be launched at the University of Gloucestershire.

Working in partnership with local employers, there are currently 2,125 university students on a wide variety of work placements ranging from 25 hours to 12 months.

More than 30 employers will be exhibiting at the Degreeplus Employability Fair on Wednesday, February 22, at The Park Campus, Cheltenham, and the event also features masterclasses and an employer's Q&A panel.

The Degreeplus scheme looks to build upon these placements and aims to help undergraduates make the most of their university experience.

Simon Dove, head of student placements at the university, said that the number of placements are increasing every year and he is always keen to hear from new employers who may have opportunities to offer students from a wide range of disciplines.

For more information, contact Simon Dove at sdove@glos.ac.uk or telephone 01242 714320.
