ALTHOUGH summer seems a very long way away, bagging early bird tickets to next year's Wychwood Festival could ward of those winter blues.

A limited number of discounted tickets are now available for the three-day live music event next May and June.

Festival goers can save up to £30 on the price of a weekend camping ticket if they snap up theirs now.

Organisers have just announced the first bands to be booked for the festival at Cheltenham Racecourse on May 31 to June 2.

Gypsy swing music band Caravan Palace take to the main stage on the Saturday, following up on their recent tour which sold out.

Joining them on the Saturday programme will be rock 'n' roll outfit Eddie & The Hot Rods and stomping alt-folk-rock band The Moulettes.

Wychwood favourite John Otway will be back in the Big Top, celebrating his 60th year, and he'll be joined by Public Service Broadcasting.

Also appearing at the family-friendly festival will be Mercury-nominated Sam Lee & Friends and 2-Tone superstars, The Beat, fusing ska, pop, soul, reggae and punk rock in their unforgettable dance classics.

To order tickets call 01993 772580, or download the application form from www.wychwoodfestival.com
