HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to Cheltenham College pupil Jack Bowlby, who was found dead in his room on Friday.
Hundreds have joined an online memorial page on Facebook to post personal messages about the 16-year-old pupil.
On the site, Jack, the nephew of former racehorse trainer Jenny Pitman, was described by friends and members of the horse riding community as a "talented rider" and "an amazing person".
Alice Greenwood said: "RIP Jacko. You were such an amazing person and loved by everybody. One of the most talented riders I know and one of the kindest people."
Another, Heather Metcalf, said: "Words aren't enough to say how sad and sorry I am to read this. Special thoughts and prayers to everyone who knew Jack and especially his family."
Pupils at the £30,000-a-year school were still said to be in shock yesterday. A book of remembrance has been set up in the school chapel.
