ANDOVERSFORD 7 KINGS RESERVES 3

KINGS were disorganised and constantly found themselves chasing shadows in the opening 15 minutes.

Andoversford went ahead when the Kings defence were caught flat-footed and Phil Cole in goal had no chance.

Cleal created several other clear-cut chances but Cole thwarted them and prevented three certain goals with his bravery.

Kings gradually eased themselves back into the game and when Beard was switched to his preferred central midfield role Kings started to get some control and turned the tables on the home side.

On 30 minutes it was again Cole who made the decisive move, as his long kick was dummied by Greg Davidson and Humphreys read it well as he lobbed the ball over the despairing keeper Josh Cullis.

Two minutes later a defensive mix-up saw Andoversford take the lead again.

However, they too proved vulnerable after scoring and on 36 minutes Humphreys broke down the left, cut inside and chipped a ball back where Mackay headed home to equalise.

Back came the home side, and within a minute they were in front once more at 3-2.

At this stage Kings were getting on top, and their pressure paid off in the 44th minute when Davidson headed on for Humphreys to steer a perfect shot past Cullis to leave it 3-3 at half-time.

Within two minutes of the restart Andoversford had dealt Kings a deadly blow. Joe Griffiths steered a corner past Cole, and then the defence were caught stationary for another corner and found themselves 5-3 down.

As Andoversford pushed forward once again Cole was the difference. He launched himself at full stretch to tip a goalbound shot over the bar, and then smothered three further attempts on his goal.

His performance was not matched by the outfield players, and as Kings pushed forward they were hit late on by another two goals in the last ten minutes.

Man of the match: Phil Cole.
