FRUITY Cornish humour from Jethro tonight provides the perfect remedy for a stressful week at work.
The one-time carpenter, tin miner and semi-pro rugby player has come a long way since his big break on Treasure Hunt, where he played a pirate show host.
Jethro – whose real name is Geoffrey Rowe (not to be confused with Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre chief exec of the same name) – has hosted two TV shows of his own, The Jethro Junction, on HTV.
He also appeared countless times on the Generation Game with Jim Davidson and Des O'Connor Tonight, and performed his stand-up routine for the Queen at the 2001 Royal Variety Show.
Tonight, he's on stage at The Roses in Tewkesbury with a set guaranteed to make your granny blush.
Critics say his trademark hilarity delivered with his west country twang will have you rolling in the aisles.
The Roses said: "His tales are told with effortless rhythm, timing and charm, melting all seriousness into pure laughter."
He's Cornwall's favourite comic, and a crack shot to boot. You can't argue with that, can you?
Tickets cost £20 from 01684 295074.
