ONE restaurant in Cheltenham is not only offering their customers the chance to hand-pick their steaks, but to take their meat home with them too.
The Parrot Bar and Grill in North Place recently purchased a butcher's counter in order to showcase their meats to their customers.
They had already been offering people the chance to personally choose which cut they will eat, but now they have gone a step further.
People can now go into the restaurant and buy the meat to take home with them.
Owner John Hill said: "We bought the butcher's counter a few weeks ago and it has been really popular, it offers that personal touch and people really like being able to choose what they eat.
"We've got all sorts, all different types of steak. It's all from Martin's Meats in Toddington.
"In the past week, we have had people coming in to see if they can buy the stuff and take it for their tea, and I just thought, why not?
"So it is something we are going to actively pursue, I think it will be really successful.
"It is not often you can get restaurant-quality meat to take home with you. We have always wanted to do it but haven't had the chance until now."
