THE devil may wear Prada, but most of us do not. That's not say we're searching for the latest trends in the fashion world though. Far from it.

And if you want to pick up some tips or find out what's stylish this season, then Fashion and Beauty in Cheltenham is just the ticket.

The event, which runs from Monday to Saturday, will showcase the hottest trends of the season with guest speakers willing to spill the beans on what to put in your wardrobe.

The first day of the event is based at Montpellier Brassier with a champagne afternoon tea and fashion show by Verite Louise & Foundation.

Expect an array of vibrant and colourful costumes, wraps and sarongs, shoes and tote bangs from designers including Heidi Klein and Maryan Mehlhorn.

After the show, stylist Kate Parker, who writes in the Echo and Citizen's WEEKEND magazine, will be sharing her simple tips on how to make the most of your body shape and colouring.

Tickets for the event, which starts at 3.30pm, cost £15.

With summer on its way we're all looking to update our wardrobe, often on a limited budget. But help could be at hand with a Swishing event run by community initiative Cheltenham Connect on Wednesday.

The concept is simple: attendees bring at least three items of clothing or accessories and are given credits which they 'spend' on new items brought by other attendees, while their previously loved items go to a new owner.

The event takes place at the Tivoli in Andover Road, Cheltenham from 6.45pm. Tickets cost £10 and include a drink.

"All women have good quality items in their wardrobes that they no longer like or that don't fit them any more," organiser Karen Wilson says.

"Swishing is a great way to try out a new look for very little cost."

On Friday, you won't want to miss the FAB 2013 Talk of the Town Fashion Show and Black Tie Dinner.

The event, held at Cheltenham Town Hall, will feature a drinks reception, three-course dinner, goody bag and most importantly, a chance to celebrate the town's thriving fashion industry.

Tickets cost £55. Call 0844 5762210.

For the younger fashion buyers among you, then don't miss Saturday's Fashion Rebellion Fashion Show.

The catwalk event will take place at The Old Habitat Building in The Brewery in Cheltenham from 6pm.

With its focus set firmly on urban street style, Fashion Rebellion will be bang on trend, bringing Cheltenham's younger fashion followers right up to date.

Featuring the latest collections from the likes of Oasis and Warehouse, ticket holders can have hair, nail and beauty make-over's at pop-up pods.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from the Benefit Counter at Boots, or you can buy them on the door.

■ For an unbeatable ticket offer to the black tie show, Talk of the Town, don't miss tomorrow's WEEKEND magazine, inside the Gloucestershire Echo and Citizen.
