THE Stars and Stripes will be flying in Stroud tomorrow as the town stages its first Americana music festival.
Covering transatlantic music styles from blues to acoustic and country to bluegrass, the event runs all afternoon and evening.
The line-up includes musicians who have moved from the USA to Britain, including Stroud-based Sarana VerLin.
A previous Detroit Music Awards winner, Sarana combines smoky vocals with foot-tapping rhythms.
Singer-songwriter Heather Bristow is another American, who grew up in North Carolina before moving to the UK to play bluegrass and folk.
The third performer from across the Pond is Doug Hamilton, who plays with group Appalachia. He combines acoustic instruments, voices and musical styles.
Stroud locals include My Name is Earl, Wilderspin and Bob Porter.
Americana runs from 2 to 11pm on three different stages around the town. Tickets cost £10 from 01453 760900.
