THE rain which has made it great weather for ducks failed to prevent an eccentric Boxing Day tradition enjoying another successful year.
The annual duck race on the river Coln at Bibury, which has been taking place for more than 25 years, saw thousands turn out.
High rivers and dangerous conditions meant only one of the two races could go ahead in the event organised by the village cricket club.
More than £1,500 was still raised for charity, which has attracted famous faces like Vic Reeves, Anne Robinson and Dom Joly in the past.
Volunteer Peter Bradley said: "Some were disappointed to only see one of the races, but it was a fantastic event."
