IN the GFA Senor Amateur Cup Whaddon United travelled to Bibury, last season's Cheltenham League champions, and now a Northern Senior league side.

In a hard fought contest the teams were all level at 2-2 on full time.

Justin Powell and Michael Winter were on target for Whaddon. And it was Whaddon who emerged winners with a 5-4 penalty shoot-out success.

Another club playing against a Northern Senior side was Kings FC, away at Winchcombe. Unfortunately an early own goal by skipper Simon Dempster led to a 1-0 defeat. They worked hard but unfortunately the goals just would not come .

In the County Minor cup Cheltenham Civil Service III took on Old Richians Reserves. Goals from Barrie White and Kev Parton saw the score at full time at 2-2, and in the penalty shoot out Civil Service were winners 5-4.

Star III were too strong for Puma FC Reserves with a convincing 9-1 victory. Scorers were Tom Jacobson, James Evans, Drew Humphries (3), Jack Costerton (3) finishing off with a penalty taken by keeper Aaron Brown.

In the Primary cup all five Cheltenham League sides are through to the next round with big results from Northway (9-1) and Smiths (9-1).

An amazing 10-9 penalty shoot out was needed to put Staunton & Corse Res through against Saintbridge.

Hatherley FC and Leckhampton Rovers Reserves were the other successful sides.

In the league, Division Two leaders Churchdown Panthers came away winners at second placed FC Lakeside with goals from Mike West, Lawrence Gorry and Danny Alderman.
