It's not too late to take part in Sunday's auditions for reality TV show The Cheltonians.

Auditions for the programme, which has caused a frenzy of interest among wannabe celebrities in the town, take place at Maitai Cocktail Lounge on the Promenade, Cheltenham, this Sunday.

Of the 1,500 people who originally applied to be on The Cheltonians, only 60 people have been called back to press their claims further.

But Tom Thurlow, the producer behind the show, said hopeful applicants could still turn up on-spec and stand a chance.

"If people are prepared to come and queue up then we will have members of the production team looking around to see if they might have what it takes to be on the show," he said.

"We're looking for people with the X factor."

Following the audition process the cast will be narrowed down to six or seven main characters, who will go on to film the pilot episode next month.

Auditions start at noon.

So who is it at The Echo that is a mate of this dreamer? He has as much hope of getting this off the ground as Putin has of being invited to Gay Pride.

Why are you even giving this drab ahem, "tv" print? Seriously, this will just be a another bunch of idiots vying for their 15 minutes of "fame", in the hope of becoming a z list celeb.
