Nothing shallow about Six Feet

DO you like music? Do you like local music? There are plenty of local bands and artists springing up around the area.

I spoke to a three-piece band from Gloucester who call themselves Six Feet Too Shallow (Shortened to 6FTS).

According to their biography, they are an alternative/post-hardcore band brimming with ambition.

Their talents range from dexterous guitar riffs, impressive drum fills, vigorous screamed vocals to dynamic breakdowns and much more.

I interviewed one of their members to learn more about the band:

Who are you?

I'm Jay Bracewell and I'm the lead guitarist and songwriter for my band Six Feet Too Shallow.

How long have you been making music?

I've been making music now for almost a year – 10 months or so I think?

I started off during work experience at school and recorded two original tracks in a studio environment. That triggered off a whole series of events and here we are now.

I think as of now, I've written more than 30 songs and recorded the majority of them.

What makes Six Feet Too Shallow unique?

We're not afraid to switch to a different genre every now and then, and I think a lot of bands are.

Not everyone is going to like the music we make and we understand that, but we enjoy what we do and hopefully other people do too.

We're very keen on theatrics and atmosphere, but not to the point that it's a tad too extreme.

We'd be happy to give people a show but to make it all about the appearance is not what music stands for at all.

■ Six Feet Too Shallow are looking for a vocalist and a rhythm guitarist. If you think you have what it takes, message them.
